Completing the 61-credit-hour associate program qualifies you for admission into one of the university’s degree-completion programs and meets WWU’s general education requirements. You can transfer up to 30 credit hours toward the online liberal arts associate degree. Transferring credits must have been earned through an accredited institution and must be comparable to WWU’s course offerings. You must have earned a final grade of C or above to transfer credits.

The 61-credit-hour program is rooted in WWU’s general education curriculum and exposes you to a wide variety of courses and subjects. You must complete 43 general education credit hours from the following categories:
Communication – 9 hours
Creative and Aesthetic Sensibility – 3 hours
Critical Thinking – 3 hours
Cultural Diversity – 3 hours
Historical Perspective – 6 hours
Mathematics – 3 hours
Meaning – 3 hours
Natural Science – 7 hours
Social Science – 3 hours
Value – 3 hours
You must take an additional 18 credit hours, for a total of 61 hours.

Freshman Applicants – for all undergraduate students
- Completed application
- High school transcript (or GED) with a 2.50 GPA and graduated in the top 50% of your class
- Entrance Exam: ACT of 19 or Higher OR SAT of 900 or Higher
- The WWU Admissions Committee may review student qualifications and conditionally/provisionally accept students who do not met the minimum 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale and a minimum ACT or SAT I composite score of 19 or 890, respectively.
